Aircraft Maintenance and Safety Practices Enhanced By Newest Version of Production Management Software

New version allows all Sinex customers to benefit from the entire breadth and depth of application functionality.

DULUTH, MN, October 5, 2004 – Sinex Aviation Technologies (Sinex) today announced a new version of its web-based aircraft maintenance software. This enhanced product is available to enhance several key functionalities within its flagship FleetCycle Production Manager application.

The Sinex FleetCycle® Production Manager-Version 2.6 was updated to include combined features and function upgrades most often requested by existing users of these applications. Airline maintenance and engineering departments use these tools to monitor and document airworthiness. The large numbers of routine and non-routine tasks that are accomplished during a heavy maintenance check make automation essential for the return of a safe aircraft to flight service and are particularly valued for their ability to generate cost-savings in maintenance operations. This software tool provides Sinex’s airline customers which include Southwest Airlines, Air Canada and US Airways with the ability to ensure that aircraft are returned to service more quickly and efficiently and in full compliance with approved maintenance plans.

Sinex CEO and President John Miller said current airline customers have been pleased with the cost savings and operating efficiencies the product offers and are now looking for improvements that further enhance productivity. He said Production Manager, Version 2.6 is the result of the input from multiple customers. The new version leverages the application’s inherent user intuitiveness and provides even faster status report loading, allows the combining of multiple tasks and added security features to control user access to non-routine task generation. “All of these features contribute to the airline goals of continued emphasis on safety and improved maintenance operations efficiencies” said Miller.

Sinex Aviation Technologies' FleetCycle® software suite of seven products provides airline management with real-time, globally available intelligence on maintenance activity and fleet status. The system tracks detailed task and labor data directly from the hangar floor and line stations, using a combination of database technologies, wireless communications and a web-browser interface. These applications allow electronic assignment and tracking of maintenance tasks as well as real-time updates, documentation and reporting immediately upon task completion. Sinex is the first to apply this combination of technology to the aircraft maintenance industry and is considered a thought leader in the aviation maintenance industry.
